Funding for innovation projects
Innovation projects can be funded through both grants and loans; please check the criteria for innovation grants directly on the Innovation Norway website before contacting us.

LearnLaunch Fund
LearnLaunch is an accelerator but also a fund and a community-builder for edtech startups. Check out their resources and regular updates.

Lighthouse Labs
Twice a year, the Lab will train and support 6-10 early-stage startups and with support from their partners, give founders a $20,000 grant. Over 11 weeks, participants benefit from tailored mentorship, comprehensive education on scaling a startup, and a supportive cohort community.

TecPrize in LA
TecPrize is an open innovation initiative of the Institute for the Future of Education at Tecnológico de Monterrey, aimed at making visible, promoting, and enhancing innovative solutions to the educational challenges existing in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Spencer Foundation Grants

Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program at the U.S. Department of Education (ED) is administered out of its research office, the Institute of Education Sciences (IES). ED/IES SBIR provides up to $1.25M in funding in 2 phases: Phase I for $250,000 for 8-months for rapid prototype development and evaluation of new education technology prototypes and Phase II for $1,000,000 for the full-scale development and evaluation of new education technology products.

Tools Competition
The Tools Competition is a multi-million dollar competition for edtech tools tackling the most pressing issues for learners worldwide and catalyzing learning science research at scale.

LEVANTE Jacobs Foundation
The Jacobs Foundation has launched the call for proposals for The Learning Variability Network Exchange (LEVANTE), offering up to CHF 4 million in funding to research learning variability and its impact at the individual, group, and contextual levels.

LSX Call for Applications, 2024-25 Cohort
The LSX Focus Fellowship Program invites mid-career professionals from the United States, Mexico, and Canada to join a diverse cohort focused on enhancing parent and family engagement in elementary and middle schools. Fellows will collaborate across sectors—researchers in learning sciences, social-impact entrepreneurs, education journalists, and entertainment producers—to develop cross-sector projects aimed at catalyzing change in three Pennsylvania schools. The program includes a summit in Washington, DC, monthly virtual co-design sessions, school site visits, and opportunities for professional development, offering fellows a $1500 stipend and travel support. Applications are due by July 15th.
