Our partnership with Impact Business

The International Centre for EdTech Impact is delighted to join forces with Impact Business (Vaikuttava Yritys) led by Saila Tykkyläinen and Juuso Repo.

Vaikuttava Yritys Oy is well-known for the impact business consulting they bring to the sector and past projects with Finnish Government and the City of Helsinki. Saila and Juuso are advocates of impact management, emphasizing the importance of integrating impact methods throughout the lifecycle of organization's activities.

Finland has been at the forefront of EdTech Impact development globally, with the City of Helsinki hosting the first EdTech Accelerator with a focus on impact and collaboration with schools. Helsinki is also home to the UNICEF Innovation Office, which has a strong focus on scaling impact-based EdTech solutions globally.

Saila has been part of the ICEI team since March 2024 and the official partnership with and ICEI will allow both organisations to amplify their impact-related work with EdTech founders and investors.

Natalia Kucirkova, the Centre Co-Director, said: “Impact in EdTech is no longer a niche area or an optional investment; it has become imperative for all EdTech investors, as it should be. There is significant interest in research-based approaches to impact measurement, monitoring, and management within educational companies, and we are delighted to expand this work at the Centre with the expertise of Saila and Juuso."

Saila Tykkyläinen said: “I love how the ICEI team has their feet on the ground, while staying true to research-based approaches. Combining research and practice for the benefit of impact-oriented organisations has been also our North star from the beginning, so we look forward to join forces with ICEI.”
