January 27, 2025 – ISTE+ASCD and the International Certification of Evidence of Impact in Education (ICEIE), have officially sealed their partnership at BETT UK 2025. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the global education technology space, focusing on international certifications and the verification of quality across educational tools and services.
After years of collaboration, both organizations have recognized the growing need for educators and Edtech providers to substantiate their commitment to quality and effectiveness through trusted independent certifications. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, the joint effort aims to create coherence for providers, education decision-makers, and policymakers for validations that lend credibility to Edtech products worldwide.
Through this strategic alliance, ISTE+ASCD and ICEIE EduEvidence are strengthening their global databases, the EdTech Index and the EduEvidence List, to curate critical information on companies and showcase validations from trusted third-party providers. Edtech companies that have been certified by ISTE+ASCD will now also be eligible for automatic recertification for the EduEvidence database, further enhancing their global visibility and credibility.
These comprehensive databases are available at no cost to all users, serving as a vital resource for educators, schools, and policymakers worldwide. The strategic partnership leverages the combined expertise of both organizations to simplify how certified educational tools are discovered, assessed, and evaluated against one another. This collaboration emphasizes to schools and policymakers the importance of selecting educational tools that have been independently and rigorously validated.
“Evaluating EdTech that truly transforms teaching and learning requires expertise and careful consideration. This partnership amplifies ISTE+ASCD’s global impact and leadership in Edtech evaluation, while creating a more coherent process for identifying evidence-based, high-quality tools. By combining our strengths with ICEIE, we’re establishing a new global standard that will empower education decision makers worldwide to make informed choices with greater confidence and less complexity,” says Tal Havivi, Managing Director of Research and Development at ISTE+ASCD.
Esben Trier, Head of Industry at EduEvidence, added, “By bringing ISTE+ASCD’s international certification into the EduEvidence List and combining both organizations’ efforts, we are creating a more streamlined and transparent way for educators to find the right tools for their classrooms. This partnership will help raise the bar for Edtech quality and provide policymakers with the confidence that they are making well-informed decisions when recommending tools for education systems globally.”
The strategic partnership between ISTE+ASCD and EduEvidence also reinforces the organizations’ shared vision of promoting high-quality Edtech products and services that support educators in their mission to deliver transformative learning experiences.
